The skin under my underarms is considerably darker than the rest of mybody. I am a lighter skinned spanish/black person who burns easily in the sun. Are there any safe, affordable and effective creams to lighten the skin under my arms?

Reply:My guess is to exfoliate your underarm area with a gentle granular scrub and then apply some type of soothing product over it. Usually the skin darkens because it's been irritated. I've used Ambi, on the areas of my skin where there's hyperpigmentation and it worked quickly. A product with Alphahydroxy Acid may help also. I think that Dark Opal carries a product which contains both alphahydroxy acid and hydroquinone (the lightening ingredient in Ambi).
Reply:There is not such thing as "skin lightning" creams the only thing they do is brighten the skin and take away the tan and it probably wont work underarms but i would say scrubbing works other than that i wodnt suggest anything

My brother told me he wanted to try it.I thought he was just kidding,but I suddenly discovered he was serious!Although I'm his sister and I'm not white[not black,but moderate],I don't wanna use these creams!Could someone tell me how much are these creams useful or harmful?

None of the big drug store chains seem to sell it anymore. I found a company called The Science Company and bought a bottle. I did not know that there were different grades until the bottle was delivered and the label warned that the product was not for household use

I picked up a sample on Ebay about a month ago...There are people selling it on there off and on, just search under the name...Its alot smoother and absorbs better than Creme de la Mer I think...and its cheaper! :) But everyones skin is different...Just my two cents, but give it a try, its about 70 to 120$ for one I think....Hope that helps!

NO!!!!!!!! You need a moisturizer that is light wait. That way it still gives you moisture for your face but doesn't make your acne worse.
Dry skin cream WILL make your face a lot more oily and make you brake out more, especially because those kinds of lotions aren't made for the face.
You should try the Mary Kay Velocity face wash and moisturizer. The face wash has helped me with my acne and the moisturizer does the job without adding extra oil to your face.

I heard that they have to do that so their skin doesn't get ashy. I also hear Robin Quivers mention it on the Howard Stern show. I live in an all white community and to be honest, have only seen a handful of colored people in person.

Everyone gets dry skin, but a light blotch on fair skin just doesn't show up (light on light). However, I've seen this on those with extremely red irritated skin.
Basically, you're just using lotions (or creams) to keep the skin from drying out and this is the goal of many beauty products on the market today.

I'm 24yrs. old and still get pimples, and I have some blackheads. What kind of way facial cream can I use that won't cost too much.

Reply:use a wash called "Sal-Ac" which is a salicylic acid wash. ask the pharmacist to order it (not a prescription product.) you can use a low strength benzoyl peroxide wash daily (get at drug store) which will work on the pimples. some dermatology offices sell generic retin-a without a prescription. you could call offices and find out. take Yasmin birth control pills (if you are already on BCP's) and this will help greatly reduce acne.

Does anyone know where I can buy Sanctuary Skin Brightening Cream?
Sanctuary have changed the products in their range and the Skin Brightening Cream is no longer available. I have contacted Sanctuary and they can't point me to any shop that may still have some. Sanctuary have suggested their new alternative, but it is totally different and doesn't give the same results at all. Any help would be much appreciated.

Does anyone know of a good cream that works well with lightening dark spot. I had a rash on my leg and from scratching I irritated it, and they left dark marks. Ive never had dark spots , let alone a breakout before. Im dying to find something to lighten these spots on my legs before the summer. Any suggestions would be helpful/

Try soaking a cotton ball in either lemon juice or buttermilk, then dabbing it to the affected area for a couple of weeks. Those dark spots should disappear.

Slather on the oat meal before bathing, it calms the skin and reduces redness and itching.

My mother in-law suggested that I use Porcelain Skin Whitening Cream to improve the appearance of stretch marks. I'm kinda skeptical knowing that my skin is very sensative. What is a good skin care cream ?
I have white spots on my face so I usally have to always wear foundation, so I want to try to use some really good night cream, does anyone know of a really good one. Something that could make my skin on my face look healthier over time.

The trick is rub the apricot scrub into your skin WITHOUT WETTING IT, then use a HOT wet rag to wipe away the scrub. It will help with the spotting. I had a problem with that too. Mixed blood. Ya know. Anyway, I hope it helps.

You might also try using a peel off mask a couple times a week. Most of all use sunscreen!

I have an issue with some parts of my body being darker than others and want to know if there's any bleaching cream that will give me actual results and an even skin tone. And also does anyone no of any cream that will get rid of stretch marks?? I have a problem with that on my "gluteus maximus" and thighs even though i have a petite body. I know of a fast and affordable resolution for anyone who wants lighter skin or who wants to lighten darkening areas such as the elbows, armpits, knees and also acne marks. I use a product by Diana Stalder. Her products worked a miracle on my stretchmarks, ugly dark acne spots, dark elbows, buttocks and knees. I use the Papaya Kojic soap and whitening cream. I have to say that I saw visible results within 3 days and full results within 2 weeks. The Black Licorice soap she sells works well too but in my opinion the Kojic soap works faster and better but everyone is different. I would try both soaps to see which one works better for you. For best results get the set of 3 which consist of a soap of your choice, whitening cream and lotion. I promise if you use this product your skin will be flawless and even toned. I have used everything under the sun and nothing ever worked for me but I can surely say this stuff actually works!

Use a cotton ball and some lemon juice daily they say every 2 days but i wanted quicker results now i just use a couple times a week For stretch marks ive heard maderma is great but i cant bring myself to spend the money on such a tiny little tube so for now i just lotion up and slowly watch them fade

Nair senstitive skin face cream?
ok so i use that cream and i have senctitve skin and when i wait like 5 mins and i wipe it off with luke-warm water when i wipe it i feel this burning senstation and i dont know if this is normal and then like after i wipe all of it off it still has some hair and i put more on and do the same thing and after i rub it it has like this red mark from where i rub it and i dont rub it hard and like the next day it has like a red rash and it starts to pell (whcih is doing rite now and i didnt do it today i did it yesterday nite and all the hair grew back in already) and it says up to acouple weeks the hair will grow back in. %26amp; sometimes after i wash the cream off my face starts to bleed like where i rubed it off with a wash cloth with. %26amp; i dont know what to do i dont want this rash burn to be permenet.Becuz it has been like this for acoupel months now since i been doing this a lot. i really want to get rid of my hair on face but i dont know what to do. and i dont want to go to the doctor!

Okay hon thats called a chemical burn. That's not good! First of all, make sure you are using Nair that's specifically made for facial hair.
Now, wait until your skin has fully healed. Then, instead of doing it twice (since you said the first time it doesn't remove all hair) try leaving it on a little longer for only ONE application. A good way to test if it's working is by using a damp washcloth to see if the hair is gone. If you still see hair, leave it on a bit longer, but don't exceed the maximum amount of time! If you do, that will result in more burns!
If the hair still isn't gone, wait a few days, then try waxing it. It is more effective since it removes the hair all the way to the root. Nair removes the hair only from just below the skin's surface, not to the root. Think about it, guys have to shave every day right? You probably don't want to have stubble on your face every day, and its probably not a good idea to use harsh chemicals daily. Try waxing, its not as scary as you think, and hurts less than a chemical burn.

If the hair still isn't gone, wait a few days, then try waxing it. It is more effective since it removes the hair all the way to the root. Nair removes the hair only from just below the skin's surface, not to the root. Think about it, guys have to shave every day right? You probably don't want to have stubble on your face every day, and its probably not a good idea to use harsh chemicals daily. Try waxing, its not as scary as you think, and hurts less than a chemical burn.

I like to lightening my skin, but most cream I have tried have not giving me an even skin colour. They either make my skin dry and itchy or leave me with blemish. The one I am using currently is working on my chest and arms but not on my back and neck, and now some part of my body is dark while some are tan(yellow).

Skin becomes darker when it is out in the sun because the UV rays from the sunlight bring out melanin, a dark pigment in your skin that protects against UV rays. This is how most people get tan...so, stay out of the sun, and the prescence of that pigment will be diminished. I doubt that you will be copletely white, as you ae naturally darker toned, but you will have a lightened complexion!
I am not quite sure why you want to lighten your skin, because I bet it is beatiful. Remember that many would kill to have dark skin (as would I), and that you need to accept this part of you. Dark skin is so pretty and striking, and you can wear ANY color and ANY makeup!!! You are so lucky!

Pregnant women and skin bleaching cream?

I usually use Obagi #3 Clear (skin corrector cream) w/ hydroquinone, but I recently found out that I am pregnant and I stopped using the cream because I was afraid that hydroquinone might have a negative effect. Does anybody know if hydroquinone is not recommended for pregnant women? Can anybody recommend a skin bleaching/lightening cream (for hyperpigmentation) that is safe to use on pregnant women? Are kojic and glycolic acid safe? Can somebody please let me know what is safe and good to use while pregnant? Can you please give me a specific product name because I really want to purchase one? Thank you so much in advance for your help!!

A natural skin lightener that you can use while pregnant is phyto (Skinceuticals makes one). It is always smart to ask your OB as well, but that is what we recommended for our patients at a couple different Plastic surgeons offices. Hope this helps!

Reply:Black is beautiful...but hey, what do i know eh? You see, the tricky thing about skin lightening/whitening soaps and lotions or whatnot...they tend to be dangerous. You'd think that ppl would learn from the Romans (who use to apply mercury to their skin to lighten it)...that if it caused nerve damage and skin abnormalities then...chances are...it still does!
Anywho, if you want to keep your skin from darkening any more than it naturally is...you might wanna limit/avoid exposure to the sun. 'Cause, even though sunblock protects you against the damaging effect that the sun causes (aka photo aging, cancer, etc...) it doesn't prevent tanning. It just doesn't cause you to bake as quickly as if you went out without protection.
If you're not happy with how dark you are by the end of the summer...or you just want to prevent some of it from happening. Just use a lotion with AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) or Vitamin C...or even both (if that exists) It's natural...and it's safe. If you want to find out more about why these two ingredients would work...Google it. Peace.

You'd think that ppl would learn from the Romans (who use to apply mercury to their skin to lighten it)...that if it caused nerve damage and skin abnormalities then...chances are...it still does!
Anywho, if you want to keep your skin from darkening any more than it naturally is...you might wanna limit/avoid exposure to the sun. 'Cause, even though sunblock protects you against the damaging effect that the sun causes (aka photo aging, cancer, etc...) it doesn't prevent tanning. It just doesn't cause you to bake as quickly as if you went out without protection.
If you're not happy with how dark you are by the end of the summer...or you just want to prevent some of it from happening. Just use a lotion with AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) or Vitamin C...or even both (if that exists) It's natural...and it's safe. I'm not sure if there are any stores that sell skin lightening creams in Canada, but I can tell you for sure that Makari is so far the BEST brand to lighten your skin and give it an even complexion.
But you have to buy it online though through their website, and it's a bit expensive, but well worth it. The contents aren't a lot, but you won't be needing much anyway; a little goes a long way. =)
They do not contain any harmful products commonly found in cheap whitening products such as hydroquinone, other harmful bleaching agents, etc.

It can be purchased in your local drugstore. It has what your skin will need to help regain and keep its moisture. If you don't want the oil get you some Kerri lotion or Nivea lotion/cream. My brother-in-law was in the army in Vietnam and he came back dry and crackly. My sister use the Kerri lotion on him and he is moist and smooth like a babies behind.

I have combination skin and although powder blush is suppose to be the best for my skin, I find that cream blush looks better. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath %26amp; let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off. Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K %26amp; Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

What is a good, all-natural skin cream for dry skin that isn't too expensive?
By "all-natural" I mean NO CHEMICALS AT ALL. I'm asking for my mother because she has been using skin creams with chemicals in them for years and I want to find her at least one that doesn't have any chemicals in it, and one that doesn't cost a fortune to purchase either.

Also be sure to ask if the company has a history of animal testing or uses animal by-products in the formulas.

I have done some research and I am trying Strixaderm right now. It is not as expensive as the other department store cosmetic brands, check it out on the web. Actually, it is a body lotion but I use it on my face too. They also have something for the eyes area. Before I put it on my face and eyes area, I tried it on my butt first and it worked. Good luck!

Where can I buy an over the counter cream that will remove brown spots on my skin?
I have rough, brown spots on my arms from years of sun exposure. Does anyone know of a skin cream that will erase them, that can be bought over the counter?

I'm not sure if it would work for your brown spots, but I use lemon juice on a cotton ball to lighten freckles on my face.
There might also be skin bleaching creams available at the beauty supply store (Sally's?) near you?
